Online gaming survey

Hi,

I'm a final year psychology student interested in the attitudes that people in the online community have towards female gamers.
If you have 5 minutes spare I would greatly appreciate any input.

There's not much middle ground in that survey...the majority of those questions are quite extreme in their position.

Not sure how that relates to perceptions and/or attitudes towards female gamers.

As x-st said the questions seem preloaded with the assumption that all men absolutely hate female gamers.

And how much you agree or disagree with them can be equally extreme, and she does say she's looking at "hyper-masculine attitudes" anyway....

Alice does pretty much say so outright:

I expect to find that high levels of play time and high levels of hyper masculine attitudes will relate to higher levels of sexism towards female gamers.

Alice - Based on some of the questions in that same survey, regarding what is and isn't masculine anyway, I'm not sure your idea of Hypermasculine would be as applicable, particularly as playing video games is still seen as a nerdy geek-only thing by a lot of REAL men.

Either way, I hope your expectations find themselves seriously ill-met, and wish you luck in your endeavours.

Got to the second page and stopped, without a doubt the worst survey I have seen, would have put a stronger comment, but then the admins would rightly be kicking my butt.

One thing is for sure no matter how much the writer may protest sexist to the extreme.

Aah just saw it's his only post on the forums, maybe the admins do us a favour and delete the entire thread.
