what's the ideal connection speed for online gaming? obviously faster is better, but what would you say is minimum for a good online experiance?

Faster isn't going to improve latency at all.
You should get the same latency out of home250 as home2000, and ISDN isn't that much worse.

okay, is there way to improve latency? :D bf2 is giving me problems, screen jerks around and i end up facing a different direction, a few feet from where i was! and thats usually when i get shot! happens a lot if i run? i'm on a 512k connection at the moment, but am upgrading and hoping for better online play?

A 512k connection is fine for BF2. You might want to avoid some very busy 64 player maps though.

Having the video settings above what your system (video card) can handle will also cause this. So will a high ping and a slow server.

What is your system spec and what have you set all of the video options to ?

isp is blueyonder. what are line stats? hardware is capable of running the game (7800gt, 1gb ram etc.) single player mode works fine. what are line stats? also, got plenty of anti spyware! (telewests favourite fob off!)

They don't matter. Guess only option is complain to BY, or start looking at other ISPs (and you'd need a BT phone line too).
