After some suggestions for multiplayer game that supports co-op or competitive for three players. But some fussy requirements.

We have completed Borderlands, and it got boring about half way through. At least it wasn't an ability demanding game, and was the most successful we tried so far. No desire to try DLC for it.

I suck at FPS and not really interested in Left 4 Dead series unless it goes for less than £10

Real-time strategy is dominated by one player, and apart from Age of Empires 2 I've not enjoyed any RTS that has plenty of multiplayer potential.

Considering Arma 2, but normally someone gets bored (primarily me) of crawling on their virtual belly for most of the game. Hence why Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter failed.

It's a bit old, but Swat 4 can be very fun in co-op. The aim of the game is to use non-lethal force (beanbag shotguns, pepperball guns, tasers, etc) to apprehend suspects... Makes it a bit different to your usual run and gun shooting game.

I think company of heroes fits the bill, its got some 3vs3 maps

Didn't realise it had multiplayer. But it's only on specific multiplayer maps, and not co-op through the game?

Tried the demo of Sins Of A Solar Empire again last night. Didn't like it that much when I tried it months ago, but got on slightly better with it this time around. Absorbed a few hours.

A possibility as it's more recent than Rainbow 6 Ravenshield.

Not looking at Vegas series as they all have it on Xbox already.

Men of war. You can do the German, Allied, and Russian Campaigns in co-op mode and it's solid. You really need to communicate and work as a team to get through the missions but if you get it right the end result is very rewarding.
