Greetings,

I am a gamer and also a PhD student at Nottingham Trent University (UK) that is currently doing some research on Online/Offline Gaming. If you want to voluntarily take part in my survey and help me out understand why we all love gaming so much I will greatly appreciate :-)

Here is the link: http://svy.mk/M9Uk3u

Please note that this project is personal and has been ethically approved by the university's ethical committee.

For further questions you can contact me here,
Thanks and have a nice day everyone!

Done.

Although some of the questions were effectively duplicates (asking if you do think about your next gaming session when not playing, then asking if you don't think about gaming when not playing)

Done..

"I think my gaming has jeopardised the relationship with my partner."

Not at all, because my partner is a hardcore gamer too, wahey for gamerchicks !!! :D

Of course your partner is a hardcore gamer.. you use your right hand to game!

Thank you for your time and feedback! Really appreciate it. In fact they are not duplicated - they tap into the same dimension but are methodologically speaking different :)

thank you!

Lol ! Funnily enough I do remember a time when she said to me, you carry on playing Battlefield 3 and we'll see how good a score you get while I do this.

Ruined my kill/death ratio for days that did :D

ethically approved by the university's ethical committee.

This bit always annoys me,
Why is there no repetitious question committee, or appalling typo committee, or this survey is ten minutes too long committee?
No, instead we have some fuddys debating the ethics of whether a student can ask a few questions, then breaking for a long lunch before sitting down to get creative with their expenses form.

" I don’t think the amount of time I spend gambling has increased at all over the last year."

Is that supposed to say gambling?

;)

Completed the survey, good luck with the PHD :)

It seems rather heavily weighted on any negative impact that gaming may have.

Some of the questions did confuse me though like:
28. I don’t care if I am unable to play games.

Isn't that a double negative ? my grammar isn't the best but I wasn't sure how to answer that.

Also it all seemed very negative, there is some good to gaming too ya know !

Otherwise Done and good luck !

Stopped halfway through, thought the questions were way too repetitive and the answers were far too vague to give a positive reflection. Perhaps it's because I don't game as much as I used.

that confused me too, i said it didn't because i've never gambled [at least never gambled outside of say playing poker in red dead redemption which doesn't count because it's not real money] and i haven't started in the last year, if it said gaming then it'd have made more sense, i've been gaming a lot more over the last year [funnily enough coinciding with having a pc that can actually play games] and i'm not nessecarily proud, but i dont regret it either
