online payroll. any suggestions?

the site we use has just become 6x more expensive pear year and i've now realised how old the site looks and feels so looking to other providers.

anyone know of decent online payroll sites that are preferably free, but happy to pay a small cost per employee if it's worth it.

Sage One payroll is cheap if you only have a few employees and effective.

Not to be confused with Sage One accounts that is the spawn of satan

We use ADP, no idea on the costs though.

We use PayDashboard. It's nice, but I've also no idea how much it costs.

My wife does payroll and we looked into this recently for her firm.

Payroo is probably the cheapest. But it's not great, support is crap and it's not the best interface.

Depending on features you need, we've found that Brightpay was excellent. It's pretty well priced compared to many and it's brilliantly designed. The basic version is cheap enough but it can get expensive if you use their Connect Bureau service which backups to the cloud and allows payslip hosting etc.

We use Xero. Makes sense to just use whatever accounting system you're already on.

Do HMRC not make their own payroll programme?
