Online rentals, do people think there worth it ?? Trying to figure it out if they are worth it?? Or does it make more sense to buy them and then flog them on?

I'm thinking rent games like army of two etc , but buy games like GTA4 and GT prologue ??

Also which is the best one to join??

So what do yo lot think ??

Depends how much time you get to game. Unfortunately for me, the time I got into console gaming again, my GF moved in, so I don't get much time for games now, so I don't find it is worth it a great deal.

If you get to play a lot though and can make the most of it then it is definitely a good idea.

Im with Lovefilm, I rent most of my games and buy only ones I really like, as im not a huge gamer. I cant fault their service really.

Ive got a promo code somewhere that'll let yo have 3 months for free, Ill try and dig it out.

I tend to rent games that have a short playtime. Games that are sandbox and can take days/weeks to complete or ones with a very good multiplayer, I'd buy. I'm buying GTA:IV but otherwise I'll buy most games on PC as they are generally cheaper.

It kind of leads to the question 'do people collect games anymore'?

I did once have a large PC game collection which I sold to fund a big holiday to the USA. Now I wish I hadn't as some of them were great and trying to find them to buy again is proving to be a pain in the bum.

so anyone got any good recommendations ?? boomerang , game swap or love film Or is there a better option ??

I'm currently using trial accounts with love film and boomerang, only signed up today. But reading around boomerang is the best for game rentals.

I've just signed up with tesco's for a 3 month trial (its lovefilm anyway) had 4 games in a week off them cos i sent back RE4 for the wii as i felt it was cack. So thats 30 quid saved already :)

Not sure if ill stay on after the 3 month trial though.

we use lovefilm and get the games we fancy and see whether or not we'd get enough out of them to buy them or whether we'd lose interest quickly/don't like it enough.

I've got a voucher here for a free 3 month trial if anyone wants it :) (sorry divaboy - bit late)

Ironically there's a lovefilm ad on TV as I'm typing this!

My dvd rental firm is starting up here in Belgium so just waiting there is only 1 at the moment and charges 20 euro per month for 1 game :0 to be honest I don't know anyone who would be foolish enough to pay that.

I like having games for the PC as usually I have a budget gfx card (read 100 quid) so whenever I upgrade my Gfx card I usually go back and replay the games with all the bells and whistles on :D
