is anyone member on this site boomerangrentals.co.uk

i was thinking of subscribing but i don't like the fact that you have to pay monthly subscription on top of the game rental fees which amounts to a lot of money and i'm only casual player

Hi,

I am a happy member.

As far as I am aware you just pay a fixed monthly cost, they send you a game on your list, you return it, they send a new one etc. You shouldn't be paying anything more than a monthly rental. Are you sure you have not misread it?

I personally love Swapgame.com, I'm a member of the 3 for £20 a month contract. Saying that, I've had NHL 2007 for 3 weeks and it's still in its envelope.

i've just been reading the faq again and maybe i got it wrong. are you paying 7.99 (value package) and getting two games for 30 days without any extra charges? if that so i think i might sign up for 21 day trial

Dude you misread it again!!!

The 7.99 service gets you one game at a time, if you return this they will send you the next one on your list. You can only have 2 titles per month, so I imagine if you do this twice they won't send you a third title till the following billing/calendar month.

I have the 9.99 service whcih is exactly the same but I can return get new games as many times a month as I want.

The 13.99 service gets you 2 games at a time, then you return them and get another 2 titles etc with no limit per month.

The 15.99 service is same as the 13.99 but you geta higher priority for the games. IE customer A has the 13.99 package and Customer B has the 15.99 package. They both want Top Spin 2 as 1st choice. If Boomerang only had 1 copy the guy paying for the priority service would get it etc.

Your thread has made me realise that I always keep the game for at least 3-4 weeks so I should change to the 7.99 service and not the 9.99 service as I don't return them fast enough to get more than 2 copies a month.

That is all...

rp has it right there.

It is a really good service, I was with them for a couple of months but found myself renting games just for the sake of it so thought I was wasting money.

Thats why I prefer to use one that allows dvd's too so I can get a few of those while i'm holding onto games.

Plus with lovefilm theres a code doing the rounds for 3 months free.

Have you had trouble getting newer releases? I'm tempted to give them a go.
I have been with them for a couple of months now and so far I didn't see many releases that I wanted to have immediately, though I orderer TDU soon after and received it without problems. I'm getting games from them pretty much in the same order I have on my list.
Customer service is very good as well.

i signed up with them and never recieved a game i waited for 2 wks had no replys from my emails, so gave up and canceld, im now using gamemonster.co.uk

Completely irrelavant, I work above the Lovefilm warehouse! (not for Lovefilm though!) Didn't realise they did game rentals as well though! I may have to check them out.

It all depends on how early you put the game on your list. I have been with them about 12 months. Initially you always got the top title on their list. Now the people who pay for the priority move higher than you in the queue so you don't always get the top one in your list, but it is still a very good service. I have probably had 15-20 titles off them in total (Mainly games that I didn't deem worth buying for £40)

With 360 games that are not yet released you can add them to your list in advance and that ensures you will be quite high on the list. Worked for me on a few titles and I got them a few days after release (By timing the return of my previous items).

I have just started getting PS3 games, I got the second one on my list.

Hope that helps.

I pay 14.99 with lovefilm, can have 2 discs at any one time, with no limit. Im waiting on Burnout Revenge(360) and Layer Cake(not seen it yet) to come through. Seems an excellent service :)

please let me know before hand if you are going to sign up to lovefilm. thanks

Your previous post in this thread didn't just disappear. I imagine a mod deleted it as it was cheekily asking people to use your referral to signup to lovefilm. I would delete/edit your new post before they do so again.

Does not allow game rental though does it?

Yes it does, you can select the £12.99 (dvd only) or £14.99 (dvd & game) as part of your free trial. I currently have Click  & Lost Planet (360)

You can cancel, or change to a cheaper option at anytime. When I send one back I get another 2 days later, very quick turnaround. They also do a good selection of HD-DVD and Blu-ray movies. Watched Serenity HD-DVD last weekend really impressive.
