I've got a Barclays sharedealing account, but the online interface is quite poor and there are £4 a month minimum fees, even if you're not trading. I'm thinking of switching to Hargreaves Lansdown, can anyone tell me how good their online interface is and comment on their service in general, and are there any standing charges? Are there any other recommendations? Thanks.

Halifax stocks and shares ISA for me, 37 annual fee, usual £20k annual tax free limit, free US market trading, think there are some fees for UK market.

I use Vanguard Investor but I'm just putting a fixed amount into an equity fund every month. No direct transaction fee for that. Not sure what the rest of the pricing structure is like.

Vanguard here for my ISA, it has a good range of funds with low fees. Obviously only their own funds on their platform.

HL has a great platform, just higher one off fees for stocks.

Halifax but haven't used for ages and fee is due soon . Vanguard mostly I have vuke and vwrl with them ,both etfs
as regards fees my vuke is 0.09 % an annum vwrl is 0.22 ,tbh daily shifts can be over 1% so its hardly noticeable .i do like to trade live as if i am parting with 20k or so i dont want the price to be out of my control ,but the fee for that is only $7.50

Horses for courses.

It's all dependent on if your trading shares/buying funds/holding funds or shares/ in an ISA or just a trading account etc.

Every platform has different costs/benefits/negatives.

How many trades you make, how many times you buy/sell, do you hold funds etc. Also UK/euro stocks or US etc.

Loads to choose from but you'll find every one is specific to each person in terms of costs/features etc

I have my own pension/ISA on AJ Bell and a Etoro trading account for "play" funds.

I like Freetrade. ISA costs £36/year in fees and you can find all the standard Vanguard funds on there at the same prices as Vanguard's own platform.
