Wasnt quite sure where to put this but here goes anyway.

My girlfriend is going away traveling for some months and wants somewhere to store any pictures she has taken. BT Vault would have been ideal but is no longer free. I am wondering if the people of overclockers are aware of any similar services, preferably free. The service needs to be simple and easy to use , so no d/l of software as I imagine she will mainly be using internet cafes to do the uploading.

Thanks for any help you can give.

thanks for the replies guys but after a few tries, with different services, I could do with some more advice.

windows sky drive only lets you upload 1 file at a time, while bt vault lets you upload multiple files, it doesnt let you download multiple files at a time. Anouther problem is that the bt upload system uses java which doent seem to be on a lot of the computers in the internet cafes etc.

so does anyone know of a service that will let you both upload and download multiple files at once, from a range of sources with limited service, or am I asking to much :P, i dont mind paying a small fee per month.

anouther thought would be whether the files could be ziped so they can be uploaded / downloaded as one package. though im consous that it needs to be simple and it will have to be a zip programme that does not require instilation.

thanks for any help

mozy.

Mozy seems popular and cheap.

They claim it's "Unlimited". Can anyone confirm this is true. I would have thought if i backup my 2TB of home stuff they might get all "fair usage" on me!

I think 2TB is excessive and would probably be flagged up.

I have 22gb of personal backups on there and its happy enough.

Vote here for Dropbox!

Fantastic technology, allows web uploads/downloads, very quick and based on Amazon S3.

Main reason I use it is that I install the app on my Mac, my Windows laptop and my Slackware desktop and my files are all synced up where ever I am.

i also love dropbox. tis great for having your current data sync's with all your pc's

only thing is that its 2gb free then you pay for 50gb with nothing in between.

Bit of a hijack but does anyone know of a freebie uploader that will also let my Directadmin backup script FTP (prefer SCP in and upload backups?)

Cheers - I will look at the ones mentioned here incase they do as well :)

To be honest, I'd never trust a free service to never lose my data/go out of business (has happened recently to a big online storage provider, name escapes me at the moment though).

I've been very impressed with Jungledisk which uses your own Amazon S3 account to store your data - so prices are pretty low.
