Im not sure if this should be posted in this section so apologies if its not meant to be here.

I have been thinking of getting back into some online table top RPG and have looked around the web a little and I registered with roll20.
I played a couple of games a few years ago but nothing too serious, tried Judge Dredd and played a fair bit of SLA industries but I am not what you would class as a seasoned player.

So far I am looking for something to get into that would be of interest to me and the majority of the games available seem to be D&D using all different ruleset versions and whilst not having anything against D&D I just feel that the groups who are looking for new players are not particularly interested in a complete noob so dont exactly want to invest their time in someone who knows bugger all about the game.

If anyone could suggest either a different game to get started off with or a D&D group who are interested in investing a little time in a brand new player I would be most appreciative. I would also be interested in any other online communities with information and the possibility of picking up a group.

Ideally im looking for maybe once or twice a week around 8pm GMT but I can be a little flexible with times and days etc.

Thanks in advance for any help.

If you have an interest in 40k I could squeeze you into our Dark Heresy game.

we are not a very regular group due to real life commitments but we tend to try and play Sunday evenings around 8pm, sessions last around the 3-4 hour mark, depending on how much of a mess the PC's have caused.

I must admit I had kind of ruled out 40k due to my own ignorance, for some reason I had it in the same genre as WoW (so my apologies to all 40k players out there) but when I just checked out Dark Heresy it does look interesting, I do prefer something with a gothic / industrial feel to it and where I get to fire big guns :) and this is kinda ticking the boxes.

What would the initial outlay be for the rule books etc or is there no need to rush in and buy them since I am only interested in being a PC and not a GM and is there anywhere you could point me to so that I can have a look at the character sheets, I have been looking at http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_minisite.asp?eidm=50 but dont really see a great deal of detail there regarding set up etc.

This is my profile link on Roll20 but as of yet its blank :) https://app.roll20.net/users/724350/toadem

Thanks for the interest and help :).
