I have been away from the PC online scene for a bit. Is Gamespy and more imortantly their File downloader (free game demos?) worth subscribing to???

Or is there a better way????

yea thats from FilePlanet...you have to subscribe for the service its not much at all.......but imo you paying for a demo.....

Catch 22 really..I would just wait for the actual game to come out.

If you mean getting back in the know how of games how about PC games magazines???

Online versions such as IGN, Gamespot, etc are similiar and you do get perks such as fast downloads, early demos etc but again will cost you.

:)

The betas always have a non-member stage, you just have to wait a little. It is not worth paying for a beta or demo.

Free and faster sites have even exclusive downloads on them soon after they are released on Fileplanet, so it is not worth it for downloads either. On a big release it is painfully slow, even for subscribers.

Waste of money imo.
