Hi there, just got meself the following...

Asus P5K Premium
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
OCZ 4GB 800mhz EB memory...

Everything seems to be running fine, the bios detects the CPU as having 4 cores, did a fresh install of windows xp.

But its only seeing 1 core I think, in task manager there is only 1 CPU graph, and CPU-Z is only showing 1 core also....

:(

Awwwwww, why me, would really appreciate some help or some pointer to a CPU driver? or something that I might be missing.

Thanks in advance for any help

Hi thanks for replying.

It says...

"Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) PC"

Under CPU in Device Manager, there are 4 x Q6600 listings...

thanks for all your help peeps, seems to be sorted now :)

I cast my mind back and remembered that the cd im using to install (a slipstreamed XP disc with SP2 + a load of updates intergrated) only had the standard single processor ACPI driver on it, couldn't uninstall in device manager, was greyed out...

So had to do a complete reinstall :)

Oh well few hours down the toilet but peace of mind is restored :)

All cores now visible
