Only 1 core working?

Troubleshooting why Crysis is a tad laggy and ran cpu-z to find that its only running 1 core. Its been running 2 cores fine since last reinstall of win xp.

Any ideas how I get the 2nd core working or at least test if its died on me?

Is that under vista as Im running xp pro 32bit and that command doesnt work?

If I try that the only option is 1 so its a case of it not being recognised. Bios recognises it as dual core but in system -> device mgr only one processor listed.

Even if windows doesnt pick it up cpu-z should. Im thinking maybe 1 core has died on me but have no way to prove / disprove this other than plugging in another pc which I dont have access to currently.

Maybe my pc is telling me to upgrade to Intel
