Hi Guys

I have 8 sticks of 8gb 3000Mhz Corsair memory sticks

I always used 4 sticks 8x4=32

I picked up a cheap set of identical memory sticks, so I installed

But Only 48Gb shows instead of 64gb

I have a Asus Strix X299 Chipset on a 48 Lane CPU, my mobo supports up to 128gb

So why has 2 sticks disappeared?

Only 6 sticks registering

Ideas?

Have you tried reseating the RAM? How is the RAM arranged? Check the manual. Have you tried turning off XMP?

thats weird

its should be plug n play, all my sticks are 8gb each all at 3000mhz, checked BIOS and everything at auto settings

IQUE shows 8 sticks for the led stuff so i should think its all seated correctly thought ill have a check now

My CPU is a i9 48 lane cpu so its more than enough to handle 8 sticks

he he he

i dont know what i did but i did 3 things and somthing fixed it

I identified the 2 missing modules and took them off and reseated, though this time i heard a click

then i enabled XMP

then i enabled Asus smart overclock, OC the ram by 33% and CPU by 25%

Then i restarted and now, now the 64gb is detected

so what fixed it i dont know but im gonna leave it for a while, then i disable xmp and the auto overclock to see what happens
