Hello,

I am trying to run GeIL Ultra-X nForce 4 PC3200 Special Edition memory in my Asus A8N-SLi Premium motherboard. Putting one RAM module in slot B1 works fine. However, putting the other module in slot A1 makes the system fail the memory test when trying to boot.

What's going on?

Thanks,

Jon

overclocked the pc beforehand ?

if you have altered with memory settings beforehand then reset them to default i.e. 200mhz and see if that works.

worst case scenario its the mobo to blame....

I had the same problem.

What I had to do, was put one stick in, boot into the BIOS and manually set all of the memory timings, i.e. set it to run at 400Mhz and set the CAS, RCD, RP and RAS. I would also recommend setting all of the jumperfree settings manually and making sure the memory has the correct voltage.

Then put the other stick in the first slot and you should be fine. :)

Interesting wjfcomputers, I'll try that.

I put all the RAM sticks into all configurations on the motherboard, and the only way I can get the system to POST is by using one stick in slot B1. Anything else, and I get the the "System Failed Memory Test" error.
