Boot up today and apparently Ive got 6gb installed even though Ive only got 4gb in. CPU-z confirms 4gb

Not a clue whats happening here. Been fine for months, nothing changed config wise.

Anyone any ideas? Screenie below.

Are you using Readyboost?

Im not sure if that would show up as more memory like that, I don’t use it personally, im just guessing!

Im saying Ive only physically got 2x2gb of ram installed. Windows is telling me I have 6gb when I dont.

Just noticed your CPU clock, is that on air? If so what RAM, timings, etc. are you using? Sorry, just can't get mine past 3GHz with Vista though XP went to 3.3GHz.

Sorry, I'll stop de-railing now.

Just Vista misreporting I guess. It often gets the CPU clock wrong if you've changed the multiplier from the default, as well. I'm guessing task manager shows 4GB?

RAM is GSkill PC8000 timings 5-5-5-15 and CPU under a Xigmatek Air cooler with 1.425v. Screenie below.

Clock speed reporting correct dude :D.

Yeah task manager is saying 4gb and readyboost is disabled btw. I aint got a clue to be honest, perhaps a bios setting?

This is the sort of thing that will really bug me. I have not not had any problems what-so-ever because of this but I bet if I cant cure it I'll do a re-install because I will just have to..!!
