Hi there.

I have recently purchased a 1Gb stick of PC2700 Ram (not from OCuk). It's an unbranded value stick (I know, I know) and I have this morning put it in my MSI MS7095 board.

The board only recognises 512Mb of the 1Gb stick. I thought I'd try a firmware update and it's now running at the latest version, 1.3. Still no luck.

I've tried CPU-Z and it says that in slot 2, there is a 1024mb of RAM yet in System Properties on XP it's saying 448Mb and when the PC does a memory count on boot it only finds 448Mb, 32Mb shared graphics.

Any idea's guys?

I've tried the stick in an Asus P4 board and XP displays 1Gb. I've also tried the ram in both Dimm slots. :(

CPU-Z says that in slot 2 there is 1024mb of ram.

In the timings table it has :

Frequency : 133Mhz
CAS Latency: 2
RAS to CAS: 3
RAS Precharge :3
tRAS : 6

Voltage 2.5v

Then in the column next to the info above it has :

Frequency : 166Mhz
CAS Latency: 2.5
RAS to CAS: 3
RAS Precharge :3
tRAS : 7

Why is it doing that? I thought it should have one column as there is only one stick in??

Okay I have just had a read of the manual and it says the board supports 4 banks of RAM @ a max capacity of 512Mb.

I have one stick of 1Gb with 16 chips on it? Do I need a 512Mb stick with 8 chips or 16 chips?

Cheers
