onyone got good links to slipstreaming win 7 disk

created a boot disk USB with SP1 tried it and it seems to work (didn't finish the boot though naturally hehe)

/waits impatiently for SDD that he ordered last thursday... (via parcel post international)

Just updates. SP1 took almost an hour to install all on it's lonesome, and it was a standalone download-and-install, it wasn't showing up in windows-update.

Final post installed SP1 from the DR iso yesterday lunchtime. After install I had around 58 updates to install (including MSE updates) roughly around 125MB so not huge. Took some time to shut down the pc (around 8 mins) as it had to install updates after log off. Installed another 3 on restart and shut down again.

Last night I think ms issued an update tuesday as I'd a further 8 to install.

One of which was after log off and took around 15 mins to shut down

Now I seem to be up to date with everything.

Thanks for all the posts guys eventually the SP1 iso seemed like the best option i'd recommend it.
