I was running orthos today, 1 set to each core
At stock speeds and voltages I have started to get the following error messages via orthos

WARNING: Affinity Mask: Process: 0x2 Sys: 0xF

WARNING: Affinity Mask: Process: 0x4 Sys: 0xF

WARNING: Affinity Mask: Process: 0x8 Sys: 0xF

WARNING: Affinity Mask: Process: 0x3 Sys: 0xF

What do these mean?

I do not appear to be having any stability issues, BSODs, freezes or crashes
The core is a Q9950

Ahhh hang on... after trawling google for an hour I found this

http://forums.*****.net/*****-hardware/110639-orthos-warning.html

"No, nothing to worry about.

The warning comes from code I added to check what the system CPU affinity was and what affinity the app was running with.

In your case, 0xF (bits 0-3) means that there are 4 CPUs available, but the Process = 0xC (bits 2 & 3) means that there are only 2 CPUs that the app is allowed to run on.

When I developed Orthos, I didn't expect Intel or AMD to come out with a consumer-level >2 core CPU so fast."

Does this make sense or should I still be worried?

I think it's just telling you which cores the threads are running on, and that this may not tie up with the applications expectations. Not a bad CPU issue.

Thanks for your help people

Quick question, when stressing a new overclock... how many cycles of burn test should I do?
Im guessing more than 5?

I usually aim for 15/20 (but since you have a C2D, leave the threads on auto) and then a 8 hour prime blitz, then I'm happy.
