A friend at work is after some advice for a replacement car, she used to have a Puma and is currently driving an MGF (horrible thing!!)

Im quite frankly useless on the 'newer' side of the used car market, so could anyone help with a few suggestions on the following:-

Doors - 4 door if poss otherwise 2 is fine

Budget - £5k to £8K

Insurance Group - upto and around a grp 13

Type – sporty but no soft tops!! Performance prefered over looks

Fuel - Petrol or Diesel

Colour – Black, silver, blue (metallic) - well she is a girl :D

So - over to you OCUK motors guru's ;)

Civic Jordan, ST170 like cocopops said, another Puma?... Hyundai Coupe, Golf mk4 of some sort?

Cheers lads :D
Im more err shall we say 'old skool' so anything within the last 10 or so years has gone happily sailing past the window!
A bit of further info - she likes to drive hard, bit of a petrol head (offered to crew for me, before the dragster went up for sale) has done a couple of track days, but doesnt want huge servicing costs - as this is a bit of a cost cutting exercise.
Thanks for the suggestions so far :D

328? group 16...
also, i would prefer a 325 to a 328.

im really struggling for a decent performer but under grp14. would having a cheaper car mean more towards the insurance?
if so, s14a 200sx or M3 can be had for under max budget.

just seen doesnt want huge service costs, forget the m3 ;]

She is a girl so you can ditch the grp 13 requirement and all the rest adds up to Impreza.

You dont have to spend all 8K on it - put the rest to servicing costs/insurance.
