Its a M&K MX-150THX sub; enclosed cabinet and twin 12" drivers and should be able to extend right down to 20Hz and below in room which is right down there in vomit inducing country :D

Quite a leap from my MS309 which is still a stunning sub and has done me very proudly :)

I don't envy my neighbours when I get this elephantine noise producer in place though, bass does carry :o !

You went for it then :)

Have been reading your thread on AVF - let us all know how you get on with it.

Yes, its very strange, all the talk of SVS over there just put me off them in the end, this unit has had some of the most consistant reviews for any AV stuff I have every seen with every review on ecoustics.audioreview.com rating it 5/5 across 10 reviews I'd have expected someone to be diapointed but everyone raved about it. I am slightly nervous because on paper it looks underpowered (150W) but it delivers so I'm going to think about the electircity I'm saving rather than the numbers being lower :D

Looks very nice and i bet it will sound even better, having a quick look on the net the and the only place i could find it had it up for £1,650

Mmmmmmmmmm, M&K goodness :D

That's a lovely bit of kit. How would it compare to say... a Servo 15?

Possibly not as loud but depth probably equal, speed though as its a sealed cab probably better.

My room is small so shear spl isn't an issue (although this thing is THX rated for a 3000 cubic foot room, with just one unit not two), I'm after depth and clarity. Two 12" drivers will push the same amount of air as a 15" roughly, but they should be quicker to respond as they will be lighter.

What will you be doing with your castaway? I really shouldn't - have just dropped rather too much on a new road bike after I wore my last one into the ground... Ho hum. Glad you're pleased with it - how well does it complement the 103/4s? Oh - and looks like I bought my model 100 at the wrong time - another one has just gone stupidly cheap on ebay! I really should stop looking since I'm very happy with it.

Excellent choice Mat, you won't regret it.

I've got a 350 and I love it!!!

You'll be rediscovering all your dvd's again.

I still think they are the best sub's out there - they invented them I believe?
