...just fitted and stress tested my shiny Opteron 146 @ 3.0GHz over night, so thought I'd give militia a try on CS-Source. 10mins in my pc starts beeping  I alt-tab back to Windows and there is an ATI banner on screen telling me the GPU temp is too high and it has reduced the mhz.

It was running at 100c - the fan wasn't spinning  so plugged the zalman into another mobo connector and it dropped quickly back down. Normally runs at 35-45c :)

..and relax :)

It was plugged in but wasn't working for some reason. I think it was due to the MSI proggy going wrong when controlling the fan speeds :( Luckily the card is fine.. there wasn't any corruption on screen or anything, so the ATI program did it's job well :)

Had a similar prob on my 6800.Fitted a home-made gpu cooler and didnt tighten the screws enough! anyway after 15 mins of CSS i had a crash to desktop and needed to hardboot to get any response.Powered back down and checked the GPU,the thermal paste was like talcum powder it had completly dried up!
