Hi, I've been building up a new PC which includes an x-fi soundcard. To go with this I got the t6060 creative 5.1 speakers. I tried this out on my exisiting PC and am quite happy with them. However the only headphones I had where those belonging to my ipod so I decided to get myself some decent gaming ones. So I got the "SpeedLink Medusa SL-8793 5.1 ProGamer Edition".

Upon taking these out I quickly realised my mistake. They also have the same connectors as the normal 5.1 system. Problem being is the soundcard (as far as I know) will only let me have the one set on.

Anybody more knowledgable know what I can do to get both working where I can switch between them without having to change cables everytime at back of pc?

Suppose you could get splitter cables for each of the 3 outputs.

Hoever, this means that te power is always split between the headset and speakers.

I use a 3.5mm jack splitter to connect both my headphones and speakers. It doesn't seem effect the quality/volume at all and they are only a couple of quid each.

Is yours the USB version then? I see on OCUK page they don't seem to do the origianl one anymore, just the USB and a new one with a 5.1 decoder. hmm why do some companies updates actually ruin a good product?

The 5.1 Headset im lookin for in the UK (Turtlebeach Earforce HPA 5.1) come with the spliter so you can use both surround and headset, but i cant find the damn things in the uk, so if you do, let me know! lol

Cheers
