Oops hacked website

Well I didn't hack it so to speak, I happened to google a company product in a certain way and followed a link

Next thing I'm in their entire customer list, from there accounts, orders, turnover, reseller price breaks, tax payments, stock, production runs etc etc

Obviously I have let them know and am awaiting reply.

What would you do ?

I did add a sneaky request for a free product for letting them know, you never know !

You did that by just following a link? That website sounds appalling, I wonder if they even have the expertise to fix it.

Yeh it's shocking, but with the turnover where theirs is you would have thought they would hire someone who knew about security.

Scary thing even google has indexed the backoffice system lol

I think you have done the correct thing, would be nice if you was to get something as a thank you.

I'm kinda expecting something, especially as I know turnover for this year so far.

Well I had a reply....

Basically it said 'thanks, we knew about the problem as we were moving servers'

I replied, 'oh, I guess no reward then '

It's strange as soon as I had the reply the webserver was taken down... grrrrr
