This car IS going to be the death of me, caused major grief at home (Ive already decided im going to rename it 'marriage breaker' if we split up) but now, after umm....3 other engines, my chassis builder called me with an offer I couldnt refuse :D

http://www.gmgoodwrench.com/perfparts/images/parts/pdf/12496962.pdf

Hes taken it as part payment for some work that should have been paid for a while back, got a good deal, and then passed it on to me....
First engine was the Rover V8 @ 3.5 litres 215 CI, then the 396, then the 427 and now the 502 at 8.2 litres, shame I sold loads of bits off ages ago, but this time I wont be so gready....and this will make a decent engine that wont need rebuilding every 1000 miles!!

Does require the CB125 and the FZR400 fighter have to go though :(

Updated pics when I go to see the car over the next few weeks :)

dude your a nutter :p

btw, ill send you some info when im back in work on Tuesday, was going to send some this week but have been working in Dox :/

Boy are you in trouble now!!!

They reviewed the ZZ502 in Rod and Custom a few months ago. It's a real stormer! I reckon running on 97 RON it could run a few extra degrees of timing and eeek a couple of extra horsies out ;)

Its already had a little work on the cam :D
Im NOT getting carried away chasing bhp this time, need to get out there and enjoy some seat time.....no use having a garage full of expensive bits I cant us!

Oooooo......502.......*slurp*

Still completely wrong putting a Chevy engine in a Mopar though. You should donate the engine to my Oldsmobile instead :D

crikey what do you do, just drive around or is there more to it, is it like a cruise vehicle.

how much does it all cost

it sounds amazing but wayyy out of my league

all the more reason then. im amazed that they have had a strong external candidate considering they have been trying to get staff for over 6 months!

Is 502hp not a little weak for the strip?. (I really have no idea, about the weight of your car etc. Just thinking aloud).

It's normally aspirated and designed to be run all day on 92 octane fuel. At under 6000rpm :D

Depends on how fast you want to go, its not all bhp that matters, this in my car (which has a hell of a lot of carbon fibre / fiberglass) should be good for 10's (the previous owner ran 10.6 in a steel bodied car)

But, its the amount of torque available from 2750 to 4250rpm - im not going to complain at 550 lb/ft thats almost flat across that range, should be a nice reliable engine that wont need any work between rounds

I'm jealous now :(

It's got a fairly low compression too. Could be useful if a procharger ever wings itself your way ;)

Seat time first....then maybe playtime
My 2 main concerns at the minute are sorting family life out, then getting the car running as cheaply as possible.... maybe in a few years, who knows
Though I did see a 427 running a ProCharger @ 1200bhp....mmmmmmm :D
