looks like my previous post got hijacked and closed. lol

a couple of questions now im getting a little more used to my macbook.

1. in safari the text style seems a little fuzzy and hurts my eyes. ive tried changing it to times roman 16 but it doesnt seem to have changed when i close the box down nor if i try and mae it bigger as its a little small. am i doing something clearly wrong?

2. in iphotos how do i get all the pics full screen so that i can scroll through them and view them.?

3. ive copied my songs from my storage hard drive and it shows just under 8gb in the folder but in itunes it has only imported just under 3gb. is there a reason for that? does itunes compress them or something.

4. also how do i change the toolbar in safari from the silver colour.?

thanks in advance

Yep, its always ends up the same.... Mac v Windows v Mac v Windows.... :o:o:o:o.......

btw, I use Mac at home and Windows at Work.

Can only help with 2

Go to view or (alt+cmd+F), then arrow left <- or right ->

Assuming this is the issue, text is rendered differently on Macs than on Windows. Windows renders the text sharper, which is why it looks fuzzy.

thanks all.

the music appears to be in wmv format, and i cant find away to get itunes to find all my music.

lord spolodge . whats the option key.

I'd like an explanation from "Feek" who was the don that closed the other thread. Why was it closed? Nobody was being abusive and people were discussing Macs strong/weak points over Windows based OS as per the topic posted. If a Don is allowed to close a thread because a particular OS gets bashed, that's opening a can of worms. How about we go about closing all threads where people have other opinions on not just operating systems....oh wait...that would mean the forum wouldn't function. Yawn.

Cmon man, is it really worth antagonising the haters? The last thread got closed and the poor OP still had questions. This thread is gonna go the same way.

The option key is the alt key by the way.

The mods/dons have only themselves to blame for that. It's only banter and forum discussion based on the original topic, i.e. a typical forum thread. Let people exchange views if they so wish surely?

It's not really banter. There was plenty of underhanded sniping at each other. As has been stated, it's an oft repeated argument that's been flogged to death, not just on this forum, but on forums across the internet. If I wanted to read bull**** about what some fanboy of X or Y thinks, I'd go read 4chan /g/.

I closed the thread because it went exactly the same way that every other Windows Vs. OS X thread has gone, it descended into petty arguing rather than sensible discussion. If this one goes the same way then it'll be closed just like all the others.

  1. Font rendering differences, between Mac and PC
  2. Option-Command-F
  3. iTunes will not recognise WMV. Use an audio editor to convert them before importing.
  4. You can't. At least not without buggering around with Terminal.

guys please dont turn this into an argument thread, im merely after advice how to best use my macbook as im struggling a little to get used to it.

evh - thanks for the info.
1. the rendering explains that then. plus i forgot my old laptop is a 15 inch so would explain it a little as well.
2. thanks
3. are there any audio editors already on the macbook or can you suggest one.
4. thanks again.

Im not sure on the iTunes not accepting wmv, when I imported a mates WMP library into iTunes it converted quite a lot of things, I can't remember what format they were however.

They can hate all they want. I've worked in the design industry and I can tell you that Windows does render fonts badly whereas OS X does not.

There was no malice in my post.
