Can anyone reccomend me any oblivion style RPGs, ive oblivion to death and loved it, morrowind is ok, but unfortuantly using the widescreen hack disables mods, which is annoying. Im currently playing the 2 worlds demo, and if you can get past the bugs and things, it very good so im gonna pick that up aswell.

The only other one i can think off is gothic 3, but apprently thats even worse for bugs/glitchs that 2 worlds, and a worse game.

Any others?

cheers, already got guild wars, but its an online RPG, not really looking for any more of them because ive played so much guild wars already.

On Gothic 3, its got some reviews at 8 and 9 out of ten, but then others at 1/5 and 4/10, similar with two worlds, i guess you have to try them for yourselves, because personally i think the demo for 2 worlds is fantastic.

ok im gonna order gothic 3 and two worlds, both pretty cheap (about £30 for both)

Gothic 3 is only 9.99 where im gonna buy it from, so im just wondering what patchs do i need? Do i need all of them? All just the latest one, there seem to be quite a lot so i mnot sure what to get. Also what about tweaking and stuff?

The guild 2 seems interesting, its kinda a sim/rpg thing i think. There was a pirates/sea exp pack for it lately. I heard its bit bugy tho so your choice.

If you like open ended games, and like space then you could try x3 reunion.

Yep, I played Bloodlines too, good game, not really free-roaming as the world is zoned, but there's multiple plot-paths you can follow and multiple approaches to each quest which makes it very open-ended. The developers went bust but they released a couple of unofficial patches after closing down that add loads of content they didn't have time to finish and fix loads of bugs. I think the latest is 1.5, you can get it from all the usual download sites.
As to Gothic 3, iirc the initial bad impressions it created were because it was buggy, but I am told by people who played it that most of the bugs have been fixed with patches as well.
I've also downloaded the Two Worlds demo and it looks like a good game. If I didn't have Bloodlines and Morrowind to finish I would definitely buy it:)

Does Gothic 3 still have that incredibly annoying thing where animals keep knocking you down so you're pretty much buggered as soon as they land a hit on you? Bought it when it came out but couldn't bare to play it for more than few hours due to things like that and constant crashes/corrupt saves.

Fallout and Fallout 2 are 2 of the best RPGs ever, bar none. However I don't think they're all that open ended. More than most though I guess and definitely worth playing if you haven't yet. i was actually cleaning out all my crap a little while back and found both along with the original boxes and all amongst all the crap. Been replaying them and having an absolute blast, even with the dated graphics.
