Open NIC DNS stopped working

I've been using open NIC DNS for a while now but yesterday their service failed me and I had to revert to my ISP's DNS.

Has anyone else using alternative DNS providers experienced this or anything similar recently?

I'm thinking maybe it has something to do with the Mirai attack that happened in the USA earlier this week and now all the alternative DNS guys are getting oversubscription to their servers and crashing them?

I just use Google

I don't want to use Google really,think maybe they have enough data on me already.

Could be worth a try but are any other open NIC users experiencing any issues?

Or OpenDNS users or Cryptostorm,Comodo etc?

I've used openDNS for years and never had an issue and I've just tried my four nearest opennic ones and there's no issues there either. https://www.opennicproject.org/nearest-servers/

No,I checked the Open NIC DNS I had in my router and they all seem fine,looks like maybe it's the router packing up.

Asus rt n56u ,maybe time for a newer version.
