I'd like some software with the functionality of something like Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120%, is there anything out there free and legal?

I CBA burning the Red Alert discs!

Thanks.

Oooh, you are right. That serves me right for not reading properly in Wikipedia.

The functional free version of Daemon Tools seems to have advertising in it, I'll have a look and see how obtrusive it looks.

Thanks.

Virtual CloneDrive

way sleeker than daemon tools, and they don't try and install spyware for you (like daemon tools)

Daemon tools only installs crud if you don't bother reading the installer and blithely click the "next" button continually.

i don't click 'next' next next, but the fact that they have it there in the first place is just shocking

VCD doesn't require a restart after installing either, it's clearly better written, it's tiny and just works without bothering you, or causing problems associated with the STDP driver that daemon tools has to use
