Open-Source Virtual Reality

I'm waiting on user opinions for v1.4 as it could be a decent alt to the Rift at close to half the price.

For me it needs more game support through SteamVR and either Vireio Perception 4 ( which is rumoured to be out in the first quarter of 2016 - i.e soon ) or VorpX.

I could use TriDef3D just now but that means no decent aa, which it'll need badly at 1080p.

If you read up on it, then it seems it can be fiddly to get up & running properly.

But if you like tinkering with things that shouldn't be an issue.

Yeah, it's still a dev kit at this point, though the fact they are trying to make it user upgradeable so you could change the panel for a higher resolution sounds like a nice trick

There was a post by a dev from Vireio Perception (I have not been able to confirm) on the osvr forum to say it's getting full support including DX11.

Tinkering is not a problem :)
