Open WiFi networks - request for tech advice

Laptop is connected to open WiFi and needs to sign in but the browser isn't redirecting to the sign in page. Is there a way to force that like mobile devices do?

HTTPS borked this a while back. Go to a non-HTTPS site, e.g.

Try 1.1.1.1 - despite being cloudflare dns it's also often default virtual ip for redirects
