I use a Windows 2000 Server which prints off many files each day.
All of the documents stay in the queue with the status "Printed" once printed.

Three 3 days worth of printed documents are kept just in case copies are requred.

There is one document in the print queue which I need to open up and check, rather than just print. The printers are not local.

Is there anyway I can do this, I'm under the impression that the files are stored locally until deleted?

Are they HP printers? If so, look at Properties (of the printer) > Ports > untick 'Enable bidirectional support'.
Edit: Oops, misread - thought you wanted to clear queue! :o There should be spool files on the server *.spl - there are spool viewers you can download.
