Opening a windows .dmp file in Linux?

It is just a document really right? Libraoffice does it, but it not really normal text. I am sure they have a app somewhere.

A windows dmp file? ... that's a memory dump not a normal document.

Libreoffice may well try and open it but will not display anything meaningful as it won't know how to interpret the file, (you'd probably get a similar result by just running strings against the file in a shell).

I haven't come across a Linux application to interpret these files but that's not to say there may not be a method to do so ... but Microsoft do provide information on interpreting them using dumpchk whcih you can find with a simple Google.
