Utterly confused - does my A3 really not have the facility to open my boot from the inside? (I can open it from the keyfob).

On the Fabia it was above the electric window buttons on the drivers door handle. Failing that, surely you can just press the boot release on the remote whilst it is in the ignition?

My Mam's Fiesta has a boot release but is quite annoying as you can't open the boot while the engine is running :o

does the boot actually have a button on it when you lift it? if so I wouldnt have thought there be a need for a button inside the car.

Its so you can unlock the boot from inside the car without unlocking the whole car.

In mine it knows when the keys are in the ignition so non of the buttons on the remote work.

You have to press the unlock button 3 times on your door then it unlocks your door, passenger then boot (if its 3 door). Otherwise when you do not have the key in the car press unlock 3 times or keep hold of the boot open button for a couple of seconds.

I find the design a bit weird but meh.

I can't think of any situation where this is a disadvantage? Unless you are delivering drugs.

Seriously why can't you just unlock the whole car? 99% of the time the only reason someone other than you would need to open the boot would be if they are a passenger who you are dropping off, in which case you will need to open the doors anyway.

i have to admit, hate bot release on my oldmodo and never used it, i don't (think i) have one on my A3 sportback, and i don't miss it. Hardly poor in my opinion.

Ahh ok, never really needed it when the car itself needed to be locked at the same time. as before....delivering drugs? :P

Drug dealing? You guys sure are imaginative.

No - I didn't know that pressing the door button several times would open the boot, which is what I needed, and I have no problems opening all 3 doors by pressing the button.
