Hi.

I am having trouble viewing .pdf files with OpenOffice.

I click on the .pdf, and OpenOffice comes up with "ASCII Filter Options" asking me to chose Character set, Default fonts, Language and Paragraph break. I just chose the default settings, then it opens and just shows 1576 pages of random letters and numbers, etc...

How do I open .pdf files with this program? I had no problems before.

Nevermind, I completely forgot I needed Adobe reader for .pdf files :o I haven't used them for ages and thought OpenOffice would open them.

I much prefer it, but it has issues with very large PDFs or fancy embedded drawings apparently.

I also use Foxit. Much better than Adobe Acrobat. Course I haven't used Adobe Acrobat for ages so I couldn't say what the current state of play is like.

Haven't experienced any issues with embedded drawings or large PDFs though. What size PDFs are we talking here?

There is also Sumatra PDF. http://blog.kowalczyk.info/software/sumatrapdf/
