Opening some compiled audio files

I am making a film and am after some simple weapon sounds. To do this, I plan to use some sound packs people have made for games. Back in the days of CS, this was no problem, but now game audio files are generally compiled into one file and there lies my problem.

There are two files I have, these are:

A .SDS file designed for Mafia II. This should be easy as there are two programs designed to open these. The first one is a GUI one which tells me I don't have an SDS file selected when I double click on an SDS file. There is also a command line version which flashes up for a fraction of a second and disappears. If anyone would be wiling to try it out on their PC it would be appreciated!

The other is a .sb file which I don't have a clue how to open. Perhaps you have some ideas?

I've tried Awave Studios but I don't think I am using it properly as it just gives out a burst of static despite the fact it claims to be compatible with those formats.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

That's why I'm using third-party sound packs rather than the actual game sounds. Not that it really matters anyway, It's just me and a few mates making it- not something that is going to be big on YouTube let alone Hollywood!

Maybe you should get the sound clips from the crazy russian guy who's always testing guns and posting vids on youtube. He'd probably let you if you asked and put a credit/link to his vids.

Not a bad idea, I've got some pretty good ones already but I was hoping to use the sound packs which are supposed to be very good!
