omg - i love the opening FMV in Dawn of War - its sooooo good - one of the best in my opinion. Making a film out of Warhammer 40k would be pretty bloody good in my opinion - the charcters would look wicked - a proper good versus bad (chasos versus imperium) mash up with terminators and huge tanks etc - it wold be sweeeeeet.......

edit: no - i dont play warhammer battle top games and never have lol (not that its a sin for those that do)

Yeah its not bad...and lay of the Dr Pepper :)

I use to play table top games mind you was over 18 years ago but I did play Heroquest last Christmas :D

Yeah tis an awesome video, not as good as the Warhammer Mark of Chaos one, now that is jaw droppingly good

And yes I play Warhammer tabletop :)

It is good graphically, but it just didn't feel like Warhammer 40k and they should never ever do a film since hollywood would never get it right in a million years. Unless a film is good guys vs bad guys nobody ever seems to understand it and in Warhammer 40k there are no true good guys or bad guys thats why warcraft is so popular, they ripped off Warhammer then dumbed it down to a good vs evil scenario. e.g.

Orks - Were desgined to think of nothing but war its just in their nature not because they are evil
Eldar - They don't care about anything but their own dying race and would sacrifice billions just to save a few thousand of their own.
Necrons - They are just mindless killing machines who were tricked by the C'tan and now just attempt to strip life from the galaxy again
Tyranids - Again just mindless killing machines with no emotion which are controlled by the Hive mind
Imperium - Very corrupt, they don't hesitate to kill off a whole planet if they smell the slightest hint of heresy, would sacrifice millions to save one space marine
Tau - closest thing to good guys you have, they want to make an empire that spans the entire galaxy, but if you don't join them you die
Dark Eldar - These guys are considered "evil", they kill and mutilate their victims so that Slaanesh (a chaos god) doesn't consume their souls
Chaos - Evil, they enjoy brutally murdering and raping innocents, but unlike the Dark eldar these guys do it for enjoyment

Theres also a thread discussing it here:

I explained it as best I could but im sure I got something wrong in there thats why hollywood could never make a good job of it because there is no definitive "good guys" also they would probably cast some of the worst actors ever to play the parts. The only way that it would work is if they did it in CG, but it would need a whole lot of input from games workshop and a great director who is an avid Warhammer 40k fan and who has a ton of knowledge about it of which will probably be impossible to find.

The Tau arent nessicary all that good though. They originally were warring clans that nearly killed each other, until a sect (the etherials)of them showed up somehow instantly united all the clans and lead the to this 'greater good' which is not all that good.

They dont always kill off other races either. The vespids they control by special 'mind control' helms. and they get human allies in the same sort of way.

And also there is the fact If an etherial dies, then all the other Tau got into a rage.(the kind of state they were in before the etherials turned up) So it leads to the idea that the etherials control the other tau and allied races. and they define what this greater good is. and I doubt its all that 'good'

Farsight saw this from his etherials in his force being killed, and moved his tau away from their influence.

Not trying to complain, just though id point it out is all.

More on topic, its a stunning intro, and its a shame they didnt have another with the winter assault expansion pack. Heres to hoping that dark crusade will.
