OpenRA, does anyone play it? I only discovered it recently, its great fun playing this retro classic again and its completely free. Its nice to see it in an engine that's compatible with today's high res monitors too.

I just tried the CNCNet version, its nice but it has limitations. It wont work at my native resolution, all I get is a black screen and menu bars. Its also missing build queuing which is something that I'm used to now. Is it running on the original engine?

Edit: The AI is also weaker than OpenRA and I can't seem to set rally points for factories. But I cannot remember whether that last one was a feature or not in the original game.

The CNCNet version is truer to the original (Ie it still uses the same engine).

It should run at your native resolution. You need to set that in options, however and might need to fiddle with the options a bit to get it working.

If you prefer the OpenRA one, then that's fair enough. It just feels too far removed from the original for me. :)

Did not know this other version. Did try the Open Ra and it just come over wrong, might be the old machine I’ve got. Actually have the originals some place. Playing that Star wars commander on the new ipad air 2 and thinking why did they not do a proper RTS of it. It looks great and sounds great but not a RTS like RA was. If frontier can bring roller coaster tycoon III to IOS why not a RA style game.
