Synced with isp second he went out door. Was guaranteed 67mbit but speedtest reporting 21ish. Do I leave it for a bit ? Is that still a thing? Or do I moan at my isp? I'll post connection details from my free bs router modem thing in a sec

If It's FTTC (or even FTTP) you should get the correct speed as soon as it syncs. While the line will be tested over ten days it's extremely unlikely it'll go up by 50 meg!

That's fine, it's synced at the maximum speed:
Link
Downstream 79999
Upstream 19999

So you're getting the maximum 80/20. How are you testing your speed?

I've got no idea. It's nowtv. I know they are probably terrible but I kept failing credit checks with others despite experian saying it's OK (to be fair it was average at first but I sorted two things it told me and was still getting refused. Don't know if it takes days to update. But this is irrelevant. NowTV gave me a service and when u were on 4g tether it's like 56k to 512/256 lol)

I'm doing it via an app on my phone. Speedtest.net Manchester spot

I suspect the slower speedtest results are from internal wifi limitations rather than the speed the modem is connected at looking at the above. Plug an ethernet cable into the router with a laptop/pc (if you have one) and you should see the speeds you expect.

OK thank you. I don't have a computer. Just consoles. Phones. TV etc at the moment. And they are tons faster so I'm happy. Just miffed at a bs speedtest giving a poor result. But i imagine your right as it is an old android phone. Thank you for your help and time. I'll update when I get a computer again evenext if there isn't any issues.

But anyway. I'm paying nowtv for phone and bb. Can I blag them for some streaming crap I'll never watch?

If you wanted to negotiate on a bundle then the time to do that was before you signed the contract

While true, what most people don’t know is you can renegotiate a Sky (and NowTV) contract at any point during the contract. Every time I get nod from someone about a change in package that’s beneficial, I call up and it’s available. Case in point I just dropped 6 sims to cheaper deals despite being in contract, yes I am now in a new contract, but I am paying less for it.

They also won’t hold you to contract if unable to provide a like for like product type (not speed) on broadband when you move, I went from g.fast to quite slow FTTC on the new property and they terminated the contract allowing me to jump to Virgin.

Always best to test internet speed on a cabled device. Consoles can by cabled, then visit Google speed test
