I'm considering getting some RGB strips for the new office room, and I'm planning to use Open RGB to sync them with my peripherals (all SteelSeries) and wondering how OpenRGB is and what its support is like. Do I also need specific RGB strips or should any programmable ones work?

Signalrgb is probably a better option
Open rgb doesn't come with all the presets Signalrgb does
The free version of Signalrgb has plenty of them
The paid version has game integration and some other stuff
And yeah I just used some cheap led strips off ebay
There's no guarantee all your pc hardware/peripherals will be supported
But again Signalrgb gets regularly updated more than open rgb
