i've just upgraded from opensuse 10.1 to 10.2, well a full install minus wipeing the /home partition. prior to this upgrade, plugging my canon A70 into a usb cable caused the F-Spot application to load and start scanning the pictures on the camera for import.
Now plugging in as before, nothing happens.

if i run gnome-volume-properties the digital camera command section of the camera tab has "f-spot-import %h" and the Import when connected box is checked, just the same (i think) as it was under 10.1.

any ideas what else i should look at to sort this out?

i know the drastic solution is to revert to 10.1 but it must be fixable, just not sure where to start looking.

worth a try i guess. i wasn't thinking it'd be F-Spot, as the app itself works fine when started manually.

i was expecting it to be more likely some issue with detecting the usb connection being made.

i'll have a go at updating F-Spot anyhow.

dmesg is giving: -

Code:
...
ohci_hcd 0000:00:13.0: wakeup
usb 1-2: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 5
usb 1-2: new device found, idVendor=04a9, idProduct=3073
usb 1-2: new device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0
usb 1-2: Product: Canon Digital Camera
usb 1-2: Manufacturer: Canon Inc.
usb 1-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice

which i take to be the camera getting plugged in.

Seems to be working perfectly. Sorry I can't be of any more help :(
I'd definately look into posting on the SuSE forums. I'd be quite reluctant about going back to 10.1, personally I feel that 10.2 is what 10.1 should have been. Mainly in terms of all this zenworks/package management malarky. Not to mention it just feels more solid.
