Opera 9.5 Beta 2 here, and looking great!

Hey cheers for the headsup. I'm reluctant to try alphas and betas but it's Opera so what the hell...

have you got any screen shots? Looks the same? :)
 
Do any Opera users here use speed dial? I'm tempted though urgh, how long does it take to setup?

Edit why bother when you can have more than 9 tabs at the top with a saved session? Hmm..

I use speed dial all the time. So much easier :)

I've got google, all my favourite forums, and facebook etc linked

No nine is the max, but you can save bookmarks with quick names too :) and i'd also suggest setting google im feeling lucky as the default search, you'll never need more than 9 :)
 
Cheers Leppy, just saw this on FileHippo. Couldn't download it from Opera direct so FileHippo for me. Think I might actually install this one. Any ideas on a rough full release date?
 
Yeah i just updated, no noticed anything un toward yet. As of release date, all they really say is "when its ready" :p there is still a fair bit to get working properly, so could be whenever really!? AFAIK Dragonfly is something was actually going to be developed with 10.0 But maybe its being developed as a stand alone for now, and will be easily integrated into 10 further down the line :)
 
One of the main reasons I use opera is for the mouse gestures, speed and mainly for the fact I can strip away all the things I dont want and get as much function and as much page viewed without un-neccessary tool/status bars.

Reluctant to upgrade unless there are some real nice additions, like SpeedDial was a few releases ago, use it daily :D
 
Only things I miss from firefox is:

1. Highlighting some text, right click, search Google for.... The results would open up in another tab. Opera does the search but opens up the results in the current tab.

2. Ability to middle click on a bookmark and have it open in a new tab.

Apart from that, Opera's great!

Leppers, can I nab you sometime? Either on MSN or something? Doing my final year project dissertation and I've a section on why I use Opera and not Firefox. Wanted to see if what I've written so far misses anything obvious out. :)

I agree its a pain and i wish they'd fix this, if you hold ctrl + shift (quite easy) and click this opens a new window, why they can just do this with a middle click is beyond me!?
