I dont know what it is i have not had a problem with opera for years, but on my fresh vista x64 install with this latest opera, its crashing and locking up all the time

im almost tempted to dump it and try Firefox

Well i found the culprit, after reading another thread somewhere I tried Avira anti virus and it was that causing the issue. Removed and bam its fine same with window photo galery which taken a few mins to load with avira on. Back to Symantec anti virus it is.

A good tip for speed-dial - you can increase the number of pages by opening speeddial.ini in the installation folder and adding to the end of the file:

[Size]
Rows=3
Columns=4
