operating on a ds

I'm thinking of buying a nintendo DS, b ut in my house i have one black ds thats dead from water damage (nothing else wrong with it) and a pink ds that fell to the fall and as a result has damaged the top screen and cracked the case other then that it still work. What i want to know if would it be better for my to buy a brand new ds for myself or buy a replacement screen and move the pink ds electronics to the black shell?

It doesnt seem that difficult to do. I have another question whats the chances that on the water damaged ds both screen remain working, because then it becomes a simple case of swapping m/b.

Ok minds made up Dr kidkhaos is going to surgery today once i find a tri screwdriver thingy. Be a nice birthday gift to myself if i can fix it

tri screw came today did some operating, everythings fine except the touch screen is off by 1-2 mm, tried recalibrating but no good. So all i have to do is order a touch screen replacement and im good to go. Not bad for 10 quid

yeah as on certain places on the screen its fine, it ok to play most games but i rather have it in fully working order
