On the last few installs after a few days I kept getting the message that the file C:\WINDOWS2\system32\config\system has become damaged or corrupt and the computer wouldnt start up, its extreemly annoying, luckily I didnt lose anything because I just reinstalled on another partition and copied over some registry stuff for all the installed programs etc.

Does anyone have any idea why this keeps happening? Ive checked for viruses and reformatted the drive but it still keeps happening.

usually you get that error when pushing a little too hard when overclocking. if you are, i'd return all settings to default and see how you get on.

if you're not overclocking, perhaps it indicates a hardware fault of some sort. you could try running memtest 86+ overnight to see if your memory is ok? :)
