Operating system on two drives

Hi, just wondering, I am about to receive a new hard drive and was wondering if I could keep the old one in with Windows XP installed on it, or will I have to wipe the existing drive?

You need not wipe the existing drive but it you want both to remain bootable you'll have to make sure the bootloader sees both operating systems.
