Operation Flashpoint 2 - any news yet?

Operation Flashpoint is probably the game i've spent the most time playing since its original release. It was absolutely superb.

I've been drooling over the prospect of OFP2 for around 3 years now, and still there doesn't seem to be much info out there

So will be see a release anytime soon? Or will it be Spring 07, then Fall 07 then Spring 08... :mad:

OFP 1.5 is out sooner of course. but both are undated really.

The game engine looks great. Looks nice and smooth. Animations look a lot better too. Interesting point in that presentation he was asked why it isnt called OFP2 and he replied "Because Codemasters are developing it and it has nothing in common with this". So basically this IS OFP2

. Its due out later this year but the developers are still looking for a global distributor, which I find unbelievable since their first game sold over a million copies and won loads of awards.

i got a bad feeling that Codemasters will make sure OFP 2 will come out b4 Armed Assault, and a lot of peeps will be duped into thinking it is the "true" Sequel.

I wont be fooled (i remember Champ Man 5 :mad:

Still loving the original OFP over here. Hell, its so moddable people have added reflective water and pixel shaders

Who's making OFP 1.5? Who's making OFP 2?

What's the difference?

That OFP 1.5 video looked good, so if that's out before the end of this year then i'll be a happy chappy

BIS and Codemasters have split and are making different OFP 'sequels'.

Bohemia Interactive developed the original OFP which was published by Codemasters. The relationship between the two companies has since ended, but Codemasters still own the copyrights to the name, which is why Bohemia's new game is known as Armed Assault.

Used to spend hours making my own content with the original + expansions was great fun playing it too bad I lost them when we moved house :/. Wasn't aware of armed assault so thanks for bringing to my attention
