hey folks, have been keeping my eye on this for well over a year now, i LOVE the first game, its brilliant, proberbly best warfare shooter made, anyone heard anything about the release date of the second? :confused:

Mmm its not quite as simple as that. I believe Codemasters are actually making Operation Flashpoint 2. Seeing as they bought the rights n all.

Also, Armed Assault is more like OPF 1.5. Apparently they have the true sequel still in the works, although with all the console malarky I doubt they'll have that out this side of the next century.

Its ok. It hammers your system big style and performance is pants. Imo its near identical to operation flashpoint but just looks a little better. I like it, but it could have been so much more, but as I say, its really only OPF1.5.

With Armed Assault it's a case of the more you put in, the more you get out.

Sadly I don't have the time, and/or patience these days so I 'bayed' mine a couple of weeks ago.

All a bit of a shame, had expected something very cool by now from those guys.

Flashpoint was a massive leap forward.

Codemasters own the name "Operation Flashpoint" and OFP 2 is supposedly being made by them.

However, BIS (creators of OFP) made Armed Assault.
Initially it was going to be an OFP 1.5 of sorts, but in the end they decided it was good enough for a full sequal, and so it is.

If you loved OFP you will love ArmA.
Arma is still buggy, and has some performance issues but tis getting better with each patch.

Arma is still buggy, and has some performance issues but tis getting better with each patch.

The main problem being that Bohemia have said due to work on the console port patches will be less frequent. NAFF.

It'll run quite well on your system, all that RAM and a decent gfx card certainly help
