Operation Flashpoint: Red River...... oh dear....

You obviously have not played many PC games then this is nowhere near that bad at all. Its designed to be played with 3 Human Co-Op squad mates but is perfectly playable with the AI nothing wrong with it whatsoever except players moaning constantly even when they get it free  The other big problem is people try to play it like an FPS & ignore the instructions or fail to see about the controls for giving squad commands :(

Its a tactical squad based FPS which is going for a semi-realistic theme. If you put a few hours in you would see that or played some online Co-Op which has been very active since launch & offers some very frantic & fun filled action with friends or randoms.

OK....... :p

I definitely agree, the last one (dragon rising) was dire, it tried to be something ,and didn't come close. This one they have actually worked on the problems. both relating to the connection stuff, and the game itself. Arma2 is more my bag when there is 8 or so of us on, but when there is just 4, the co-op on this fills it nicely. It isn't like the Call of Duty series, so if that's your bag, then you won't like it. It also isn't as hardcore as Arma (or the original OFP) but it does fill a niche gap in the middle.

I'd be very happy for Codemasters to just stick to racing games tbh, seems to be their strength.

Is, or was...

With the new dirt 3 rally stages representing the duplo of the lego world, id go with the later. It's been dunced down, i fear for grid 2, if they make it ad nauseam repeat/repeat, unlock/achievement easy mode the way of the last dirt and 3 by the looks of it

Codemasters realy have droped off a cliff on nearly all fronts in terms of quality challenging polished games they built their grand reputation on.

It's hard to imagine anybody jumping on red river on the pc side of things wasn't pushing the leap of faith.

Even that is debatable nowadays.

There seems to be a trend at the moment of British developers ruining potentially frugal IP's with lazy pieces of crap they call games.

Team17 is another.

Anyone been watching the business mistakes series on the BBC? Codies should, they keep making Grade A **** ups, but come across as completely appathetic toward the hardcore community.

Underestimating your customer demands and ignoring what the IP/product stands for is a sure fire way of going bust.

I for one, hope they do. Harsh? Maybe, but its their own fault

was supposed to get this free with my i5, but they had just run out of stock. At the time I was miffed, feel better now though :)

Wow judging from the comments im not looking for a stellar game here. I still have the copy didnt install the game yet , but i'll give it a shot.

team 17 still going ?(gusy that made worms right/)

Yeah mate.

They recently bought out a rehash of Worms on the PC they called Reloaded.

The idea and platforms were all set for a great game (if you like worms).

New, 2D game that hardcore gamers love, on Steam, with countless opportunities for regular updates and creating a bulging and fresh community.....It was ripe for the plucking

Whoever the CEO or Project Manager for that game is, should be fired. Its still a bug ridden mess, the support is next to nothing, theres ONE T17 rep dude on Steam Forums who seems to know diddly squat what his work buddies are doing, and its just a rehash of the console variant Armageddon 2 I believe.

Real fans then realised they've been taken for a mug, and quite rightly abandon the game.

So if it does occasionally work, you'll be hard pushed to find a game as not as many people play anymore....sad times...

Honestly, I think its an utter disgrace. I would love to talk to someone from there and ask some probing questions

worms 2 on the pc was the best

could make your own maps in a MS paint style editor, you could alter all the weapons stats to be completely different a was an epic game.

The original Operation Flashpoint was incredible! It's a shame Codemasters decided to continue using the name and destroy the franchise after Bohemia went on to work on Arma.

I havn't tried Arma2 since it was buggy and had poor performance. I should give it another shot with the latest patch.

Was one of my favourite games as a kid - me and two buddies had an ongoing tournament in that for years! :D

Can't say I've run into many of these bugs myself recently to be honest. What exact bugs have you run into?
