Operation Have your cake and eat it!

The Problem, 2 separate PC's one dedicated media PC / Server and one gaming rig. Both under my desk so leg space is none existent and the power draw is of course double when both are on.

So I got to thinking as my gaming rig is in a full tower and well is fairly powerful, could I combine the 2 and have one PC serving everything 3 xbox 360s 1 PS3 , live TV SD and HD ,record TV ,stream movies and let me game too.

The Solution well it turned out way better than I expected.

I used

Asus M5a990x Evo
AMD Phenom 2 1055t (95W) O'clocked to 3.5 will be settling on 3.8 24/7
16GB of Low profile Corsair Vengence
60GB OCZ Agility 3 (OS)
500GB Segate hybrid (Steam)
2x WD Cav Blues in Raid 0 (Games and Apps)
1TB WD Green (Rec TV)
2TB WD Green (Media)
Pioneer Bluray Drive
1 HD Dual DVB-t 2 Tuner
1 SD Dual DVB-t tuner
1 USB DVB-t Tuner
680 GTX (Gaming of course)
GT 430 (physx / Bluray)
All in a HAF 932

Of course it needed to be silent so at the moment the CPU is under H20 and I have a GTX 680 WB sitting waiting my new compression fittings and black hose.

Now I have tested streaming live TV to all 3 Xboxs at once in SD and HD and ran 3dmark 11 at the same time didn't skip a beat. This was my first test, so then comes the acid test, the MRS watching live TV and recording her usual **** on about 3 channels, with me sat at the desk playing some BF3.

The result outstanding, absolutely no latancy (ping wise) and the system played as if it was a dedicated Rig, I am honestly well impressed, PC's are way overpowered to do just one task, I think the Key is lots of ram but I now have what I call System Nirvana .:D
